The Port Authority of Vigo installs a new Racon in Punta Robaleira

This Hekleo-2 model maritime radar signal transponder is used to improve the detection of certain objects, such as beacons or lighthouses, in any weather condition, making it crucial for maritime navigation.

Since the beginning of the year, the Punta Robaleira Lighthouse has been equipped with a new Racón. The Vigo Port Authority has installed this maritime equipment, which has been supplied by Almarin, a company specialized in maritime signals. In this way, the conditions of navigation at the entrance of the Ría de Vigo will be improved.

This Hekleo-2 model maritime radar signal transponder is used to improve the detection of certain objects, such as beacons or lighthouses, in any weather condition, making it crucial for maritime navigation. This low-power equipment operates in the X and S bands, often agile and programmed with the letter "C" Morse, and also meets IMO / IALA requirements. Since 2008, Almarin has been a member of the International Association of Aids to Maritime Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA).
