Floating Breakwaters

Floating Breakwaters

The QMF system (Floating Breakwater) is composed of steel reinforced concrete pontoons with polystyrene core, creating a massive and extremely strong structure. Its geometry, construction, method and type of joints makes it a very good choice for protection of basins and in-port docks, but also used for the mooring of large vessels and whithstanding harsh conditions (including the loads of mooring, sea waves and wind). The width ranges between 3 and 6 meters.

The monounits are usually built on 15 or 20 meters modules; these lengths decrease the number of necessary moorings and joints, and has advantages in terms of the overall system behaviour, reducing maintenance costs.
