New accessible bathing platform at Alqueva reservoir

The Municipality of Cheles has inaugurated a new accessible bathing platform at the Alqueva reservoir, on the Guadiana River, near the town of Cheles, in the province of Badajoz, Spain.

The infrastructure stands out for its inclusive design, providing people with reduced mobility with comfortable and safe access to the water. In addition, this new facility will help promote tourism in the area while encouraging water sports such as windsurfing and canoeing.

Almarin supplied and installed the infrastructure, which consists of a 17 × 12 m bathing platform connected to the shore by a 12 m articulated access gangway.

The platform is designed as a seasonal installation and will be dismantled and removed at the end of the summer season, helping to preserve the structure while minimising its impact on the reservoir's natural environment.
