The buoy that will be studied was supplied by Lindley to the Lisbon Port Authority (APL) as part of the process of progressive replacement of existing equipment, which was obsolete and represented high maintenance costs.

The supply of Balizamar B1600S buoys resulted from the need to supply a range of resistant and unsinkable buoys to be placed along the navigation channel in Lisbon (Portugal), a place with strong currents and with high boat traffic. The buoys of the Balizamar range are characterized by their structure in hot galvanized steel that goes through a single piece hull.
