New monitored buoys off the coast of Benidorm

Almarin has supplied two EVO navigation buoys to the company OdinS, which needed to integrate monitoring equipment to collect marine ecosystem data from the Poniente and Levante beaches in Benidorm. The provided solution consists of a special structure, B1600T EVO, with a diameter of 1600 mm, offering enough surface area to house the equipment and featuring a tail for greater stability, as the estimated depth was around 15 metres.

“These buoys will allow us to obtain real-time data on water quality (temperature, salinity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, presence of hydrocarbons, etc.), valuable information to protect the health of the aquatic ecosystem and assess bathing water quality,” confirms OdinS. The oceanographic buoy incorporates a multiparametric probe that measures temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and hydrocarbons; a datalogger, which captures and transmits the data; and a solar panel, which ensures its autonomy. The data are integrated into a digital platform, facilitating decision-making aimed at improving coastal management, ensuring user safety, and preserving the environment.
