Kannad extends its AIS coverage in British and French waters

Kannad -distributed exclusively in Spain by Almarin- has installed more than 400 AIS in French waters

Kannad, a manufacturer of radio beacons and data transmission systems, is establishing itself as a leader in the provision of AIS systems for aids to navigation. The company has recently won the contract to supply AIS KanAton 3 for GLA (General Lighthouse Authorities) in Great Britain and Ireland over a period of three years.

This KanAtoN 3 system is capable of remotely controlling various functions, such as activating emergency equipment, controlling and activating spare equipment, monitoring the on-board system, detecting malfunctions, as well as transmitting meteorological and hydrological data. Likewise, Kannad - distributed exclusively in Spain by Almarin - has installed more than 400 AIS in French waters since 2008 thanks to the supply contract with the French Maritime Authority Cetmef.
