The Lindley Group supplied the equipment for its Balizamar line to signal the ‘Doca de Pedrouços’, in Lisbon, which received the boats participating in the Volvo Ocean Race 2012 regatta in the middle of this year. The beacons mark the entrance to the pier and the buoys mark the limit of the access channel to the dock. Balizamar aids to navigation products are having great success and the group companies have decided to start a search for distributors in other territories.

Ahlers Lindley, another Lindley Group company dedicated to the construction of marinas, also provided the infrastructure for the ‘Doca de Pedrouços’ dock at Porto de Lisboa, which was inaugurated with the arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race boats. The regatta started in October 2011 in Alicante (Spain) and the boats sailed through Cape Town (South Africa), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Sanya (China), Auckland (New Zealand), Itajai (Brazil) and Miami (United States) before reaching the Portuguese capital. Six boats participated in the race, which were at the Pedrouços dock for eleven days. After Lisbon, the regatta headed for Lorient (France) and finally Galway (Ireland).

From Lindley Group we build piers to open new leisure spaces in natural locations. The piers are made of materials that adapt to their environment, either with a wooden structure in a quieter setting or with a metal structure designed for more demanding conditions, such as one designed for boarding passengers.
